What does a home inspection cost? You don’t have to jump through hoops to find out how much you’re going to pay for gas, food or clothes. So why should it be that way in the service industry? You’re right, it shouldn’t!
Radon is a decay product of uranium, radon gas permeates through soil and rocks, and in most cases, enters your home through cracks and openings in foundations and flooring.
Every home, regardless of its age, has some level of radon gas, with radon concentrations being highest in the basement due to the proximity to the subsoil. Radon concentrations vary day-to-day and season-to-season, with higher concentrations during the winter.
Radon is among the top 4 environmental risks to public health in the United States and the second leading cause of lung cancer.
The recommended action level set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is 4.0 pCi/L and above, and has found nearly 1 out of 15 homes in the United States to have radon levels above 4.0 pCi/L. These homes are both new and old.
Is your home in this number? Radon testing is the only way to confirm that your home is not subject to dangerous radon levels. There are no symptoms that will alert you to radon gas in your home, and after being exposed to radon, it is a potential threat to you and your family’s health.
Whether you are buying, selling, or maintaining your home, Thuro Inspection Services provides professional and quality service from the moment you call. I will walk through your home with you and teach you as much as you want to learn. I strictly follow the Standards of Practice for home inspectors established by InterNACHI, the leading home inspection association.
After we walk through the home together, I will explain the general condition of the home and systems with you and your agent. We will talk through any major issues that need to be addressed sooner rather than later. I will also mention the items that you will want to keep an eye on for deferred maintenance. All of this will be detailed in my easy-to-read Spectora report, which will be delivered in an HTML and/or PDF format. From that report, you will be able to see the items we discussed, with images for reference.
